Chiropractor

Starting August 1, 2019, patients may contact Sarah Potthoff directly.  Dr. Potthoff’s contact information is Bornstrongdc@gmail.com.

Dr. Potthoff is one of CHI Health Care’s progressive chiropractors. She is passionate about providing non-invasive, drug-free treatment options to musculoskeletal pain and other health conditions.

The clinical approach Dr. Potthoff applies is functional reactivation of the musculoskeletal system through mobilization, manipulation, soft tissue techniques, and rehabilitation exercises. She addresses spinal alignment, joint mobility, soft tissue integrity, and movement patterns to restore overall health and prevent future injury.

As a chiropractor in an integrative setting, Dr. Potthoff works to fully assess an individual’s functionality and mobility before deciding on a course of treatment. She helps individuals retrain into functional movement so they eventually learn to heal on their own. The overall goal is to see a patient less and less as the healing process progresses. Dr. Potthoff successfully treats individuals with a wide range of health challenges including: chronic pain, nerve pain, migraines and headaches, whiplash, TMJ, sciatica, carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, sports injuries, and sprains and strains, She also has expertise in post-surgical rehabilitation and pelvic floor rehabilitation.

Before coming to CHI, Dr. Potthoff was in private practice in Des Moines, Iowa. She also spent time in Botswana, Africa, seeing patients at the Mahalapye District Hospital’s World Spine Care. She also completed a chiropractic internship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. This vast background has allowed her to treat a wide range of populations with a variety of health challenges.

Dr. Potthoff had seen a chiropractor since she was a baby and credits her lack of injury throughout a very active lifestyle to her preventive use of chiropractic care. Throughout her experiences as a Division 1 collegiate basketball player and a competitive Olympic weightlifter, she used chiropractic care for wellness and healing.

Dr. Potthoff originally considered becoming a medical doctor but soon became disenchanted with mainstream medicine, especially what she believes is the over reliance of prescription medication to address illness and injury. After studying biology as an undergraduate student, she decided she wanted to pursue a career as a natural healer and becoming a chiropractor was the natural choice.
